Kelly Clarkson Biography 

Kelly Brianne Clarkson was Born on April 24th, 1982, she was born in Fort Worth, Texas but grew up in the small town of Burleson, a suburb of Fort Worth. She is the third and youngest child of Jeanne Rose and Michael Steven Clarkson. Kelly has one Blood related Brother and Sister, Jason and Alyssa, she also has 5 Step - Brothers and Sisters and 2 Half Brothers. when Kelly was just 6 years of age, her parents got divorced after seventeen years of marriage. Her family settled in Burleson, when her mother married her second Husband, Jimmy Taylor. 

Kelly rose to fame the first series of American Idol back in 2002 on September 4th, 2002. She has released 4 albums to date with a 5th one due out soon in 2011.  She released her first single "A Moment Like This" in October 2002, and set a record on the U.S Billboard Hot 100 Chart when jumped from number 52 to number 1. Her first Album "Thankful" was released on April 15th, 6 months after the release of "A Moment Like This". The Album was Certified double platinum by the RIAA for sales of 2 million copies on December 8th, 2003. On February 10th, 2004 the album was certified Platinum by the CRIA for sales of 100,000 copies. 

Distancing herself from her American Idol image and parted ways with 19 Management and took more creative control on her second Album "Breakaway" and developed a more rock oriented image. "Breakaway" was released on November 30th, 2004 and debuted within the U.S top five and Canadian top ten. It was certified 6x platinum in the U.S in late 2007 and 5x platinum in Canada in 2006. The album reached number 2 and Spent 52 weeks in the Top 10 in Australia and was certified 6x platinum. The album however was experiencing a delayed release in the UK. She co-wrote six of the songs with several songwriters. 

Kelly began writing and composing songs for her Third Album "My December" while on tour in Europe 2006. The first single was "Never Again", the single peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at #8 and on the Pop 100 at #5. Kelly parted with her Management, The Firm on June 11th, 2007, after controversy surrounding "My December". She then signed with Starstruck Entertainment, which is run by Narvel BlackStock. "My December"  was officially released in the U.S on June 26th, 2007 and debuted at #2, with 291,000 albums sold. " My December" was certified both gold and platinum by the RIAA. 

Kelly's fourth Album "All I Ever Wanted" was released on March 10th, 2009. The first single of the album "My Life Would Suck Without You" was sent to radio on January 13th, 2009. The single first entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #97, then shot to #1 the following week breaking the record of largest leap to the top spot, which was formely held by Britney Spear's song "Womanizer". Kelly was announced as one of the VH1 Save the Music Foundation Ambassadors for 2009-2010. She began her "All I Ever Wanted World Tour" in October, 2009 and the tour ended on May 8th, 2010 in Macau, China. 

On August 17th Kelly revealed the title of her Fifth Album which is named "Stronger", the album is set to be released on the 24th of October. The cover of her first single from the album was released on her Facebook page the same day. On the 7th of September the album cover of Stronger was released. The first single which is named "Mr Know It All" premiered on Kelly's official website via live webcast on the 30th of August and became available to download on the 5th of September. On the 2nd of October she performed the single at the 2011 NRL Grand Final in Sydney, Australia. The following week Mr. Know It All went #1 on the Australian charts, the first single of her career to top the charts in that country.

The album's second single "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" was released in December 2011 and will impact radio January 17th, 2012. Clarkson released a second extended play, iTunes Session , was announced November 23rd, 2011 and was released 27th of December, 2011. On December 2nd Kelly's first Christmas single, which is a cover of "I'll Be Home For Christmas".
